Public health officials believe there is currently a heightened risk for pandemic influenza, and to prepare UNC-Chapel Hill for such a health emergency, the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Pandemic Influenza Preparedness suggested precautionary steps for departments, offices and administrative units. Campus groups like ITS are following the suggested preparation steps, the goal of which is to keep essential services operating with little or no interruption.
