The December meeting of the Carolina Technology Consultants (CTC) will feature Tola Oguntoyinbo of Sonecast, Inc. speaking on "The Social Web" on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. in room 08 of Gardner Hall.
He will speak about understanding and leveraging social and content networks and sites and will provide insight into ways the University community might begin to unravel and harness the power behind these content networks for its own purposes.

ITS has announced the creation of the SOA Center for Excellence, representing ITS’ commitment to service oriented architecture (SOA) for future application development. The Center will be led by Patrick Casey, SOA program manager, with support from Ashley Willis and John McGarrigle. All three previously worked in ITS Enterprise Applications.

William Cameron, assistant vice chancellor for information security at UNC-Chapel Hill, has been designated chair of the newly created UNC IT Security Council. The Council was formed to facilitate greater information sharing and to develop common approaches among UNC institutions to shared information security challenges.
