Admissions

We support the maintenance and enhancements to the interfaces between the various admissions offices and the Student Information System database. These interfaces include third party vendor data, a variety of test score feeds, and online data entry.

 

Energy Services

We support the Energy Service staff by providing implementation support of vendor products such as Maximo for work management, database support for several Oracle databases, reporting and new application development support. Recent new applications involved the EDS Meter Management and Chilled Water Meter Management systems.

 

Environment, Health, and Safety

We received national recognition for the HASMIS system which assists the EH&S department with a wide variety of functions, from research lab management and inspections, to chemical waste and radioactive material disposal, to Occupational Clinic data, to scheduling for the campus flu shot program. The core application is client server, with recent web applications, which deal more directly with the campus community.

 

Facilities Planning and Construction

The CIP (Capital Improvement Project) tracking system supports all major construction on campus. The primary focus of this application is the budget and financial tracking of Capital Projects.

 

Facilities Services

Facility Focus and in-house applications support the business of the maintenance and minor construction on campus. These applications cover the entire business from work order and preventive maintenance, motor fleet management, purchasing, inventory, billing, budgeting, financial tracking and human resources.

 

Financial Aid

Support for the Financial Aid office includes the installation of annual regulatory changes (from several sources), development of new programs to support those changes not supplied by the vendor, and general maintenance of the FAMS component of the Student Information System.

 

Friday Center

We support the educational efforts (on-line courses; seminar programs) and the conference facilities of the Friday Center. A new custom system was recently completed.

Public Television

We work with UNC-TV on their fund raising related correspondence. If you pledged but did not pay, we sent you the "reminder".

 

Records / Registration

Support for the Registrar's Office includes a large range of activities and a close working relationship with the Registrar's staff. We support registration, transcripts, grades, course maintenance (such as renumbering), eligibility, degree audit, class rolls, PID, and student voting. We support the Student Central, Faculty/Staff Central and RAM (advisor tools) web applications. We also facilitate other groups (Institutional Research, Blackboard, etc) that track student information.

 

Student Receivables

For the University Cashier, we provide a variety of support. This includes developing new technologies such as payment of tuition using checking account information(ACH), updating mailed forms such as 1089T to meet federal requirements, and installing vendor modifications to SIS.

 

Student Stores

We provide applications support for several store web applications such as CCI, Preorder of textbooks, and online textbooks sales. A new Course pack Publishing application is currently underway that will allow the store personnel to improve efficiencies in this area.

 

Telecommunications

The Pinnacle Application supports the telecommunication business function to include work order, inventory, and billing. This application also supports ITS billable services. Student Telecommunications Services is supported by an in-house application that includes voice and cable TV services for residence halls and student family housing. This application includes work order, long distance call rating, billing and cash management.

 

Traffic and Public Safety

We provide Public Safety with accurate information about everybody on campus so they can mail your parking ticket to the right place, and determine where you will park and how much it will cost you.

 

UNC Print Services

PSI, the printing vendor product, and in-house applications support the business of the managing print jobs and costs. CCS, the Carolina Copy application, provides management of hundreds of copiers on campus and reporting for UNC Print Services personnel. The online printing web application allows customers to submit job requests and track job status.

 

UNC One Card

We provide reporting and applications support for the One Card applications. This includes creating meal plan reports to assist the One Card personnel with planning and web applications support to provide user friendly access to One Card information for customers.
