Employee Council

Our Focus

  • To be a conduit for the ITS staff to access leadership and other resources.
  • To foster a collaborative working environment.

The Employee Council exists to work for the employees of ITS. We will do our best to address the issues that come to our personal attention but we cannot be effective without your participation. Please let us know what you think. You can provide your name and contact info or simply make a comment anonymously. You can also contact your division representative found on the Members page.

Current Employee Recognition Program

In Fall 2007, the ITS Employee Council helped to create a new Employee Awards Program. This new program allows ITS Employees to be recognized for exceptional service and performance either during work time or on an employee's own time. Awards will be given twice a year, with a maximum of 12 per award cycle for a maximum of 24 per year.

Specific details are available in the ITS Employee Recognition Program Guide. Deadline for the current nominations will be in May 29, 2009. Please fill out a Nomination Form (.dot file; you may have to right-click and "save as...") for submissions and send it to Diane Strong at CB#1150.

Our last awards were presented at an EC-sponsored Winter Staff Appreciation Party at the Sonja Haynes Stone Center on February 6, 2009. See the complete story and photos in this Hub article.

EC Member Recruitment

We always need a few volunteers to represent their division as members of the Employee Council. We have a maximum of two years' service per person. Please consider volunteering to server as a representative for your AVC group. You can view current members in by clicking on the Members link. We need volunteers who are committed to working with and for their fellow ITSers to plan activities and functions for the coming year. We meet once a month as a group for a lunch hour but most of our work is done outside the meeting by Council members. We keep each other informed via our listserv.

Getting acquainted

The Employee Council has focused on establishing itself as a body to represent ITS employees. Our primary focus has been developing rules by which the Council will operate. You can view our Policies section to see the results.
