CarolinaContent Scheduled Database Maintenance: Saturday, 11/14
November 10, 2009 Service Notices , Service UpdatesThis Saturday, November 14, the ITS Database Administration group will be performing a routine monthly database patch to the CarolinaContent production databases. The DBAs are patching a large number of databases that day so the specific outage time is difficult to predict.
If you experience issues adding or updating content on Saturday, it is likely that the database is being patched at that time. We will send an email and post a notice once the patch is complete and service has been restored.
About the CarolinaContent Project
CarolinaContent is the name of the new enterprise-wide Web content management solution currently under implementation. The University pursued this solution to address growing interest from across campus for Information Technology Services (ITS) to offer a centrally-supported content management system.
In spring 2008, Oracle’s Universal Content Management was selected as the University’s Web content management tool. With this tool, the University has acquired a scalable, centralized solution for managing Web sites - one that offers flexibility as well as consistency for architecture, security and branding.
What are the benefits?
CarolinaContent offers a solution that allows Web sites to be created, organized, managed and maintained in a centralized and efficient way. This enterprise-wide content management tool will change how Web site design is approached and content is managed across the University.
