- What is CarolinaContent?
- Why do we need an enterprise Web content management system?
- Who is responsible for CarolinaContent?

- In the October 7, 2008 CarolinaContent meeting it was noted that Web content will move from AFS to the Content Server. What will happen to our AFS space?

- Do you have to rely on the system to edit code or can you use out of the box tools (Dreamweaver) to edit?
- Is the goal of this project to provide CarolinaContent as a tool for the entire campus?

- What are the requirements? What is actually being developed?

User Experience Questions
- Will such Web pages with a custom look-and-feel be accommodated in the new system? If yes, will this be a case where the custom Web pages exist as an external (AFS) site?
- Will administrators of Web applications be able to include the same header/footers that are used in the ECM?
- From the user experience end – you say that appearance will remain the same, but what differences will they see?
- If we need something that doesn’t fit within the system, will we still be able to build and link to it elsewhere?

Features & Functionality Questions
- How are Web pages built in the CarolinaContent system?
- How are web pages created in CarolinaContent different from pages created with HTML?
- Will the new system allow webmasters more fine-tuning of the permissions and control of who can do what on the site? Will there be an alert to webmasters when non-webmasters enter or edit content?
- When content is lifted from the system, will it be raw text or can it automatically formatted in some way (such as HTML) so that it can be used in an external application or other Web site?
- How will we handle archived files? Will they be migrated into the Content Server? If so, how retrievable will they be?
- Can we add our own Javascript code or other custom widgets?
- If we come across a form that doesn’t fit our needs, who will consult us on it?
- If you use a mail form, how will that work in CarolinaContent?
- Will there be review/approval capabilities for its.unc.edu content?
- Will the process to review/approve help documents continue to be the same in the new tool?
- How would we manage blog and calendar tools within the system?
- How would a user build the Google maps functionality?
- Can I integrate with Google maps and other third-party technologies?
- What are some of the innovative, dynamic features of the system? Does it include wikis or blogs?
- Will there be ways that we can use metadata to boost search engine optimization?
- What if the content input form does not meet my needs?
- Does the content server offer version control or archiving capabilities?
