Information Technology Services is charged to move forward on our path of innovation and service as we support the University’s educational mission and meet the technology needs of our campus customers. To coordinate ITS initiatives, the Office of the CIO plans high-level, long-term organizational goals, strategic direction, performance management and process management, as well as addressing day-to-day operational concerns like resource management, operational planning and strategy alignment.
In addition to senior staff, the Office of the CIO includes ITS’ Administration group, whose responsibilities include financial planning and budgeting, human resources, benefits, facilities management and facility-related security for ITS. In addition, senior staff are developing new oversight for Project Management and Policy and Standards.
Moratorium on ERP-related Software Purchases The Provost has issued a moratorium on the purchase of all potential ERP-related software to avoid unnecessary cost and complexity to the ERP transition process. Larry D. Conrad is the vice chancellor for information technology and chief information officer for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With more than 35 years' experience in the field of information technology, Conrad has a diverse background in both corporate and university settings, with extensive experience in academic and administrative computing, as well as telecommunications. Robyn East

Deputy CIO
As deputy CIO, Robyn East manages ITS' daily operations and is responsible for translating organizational strategy into operational objectives and divisional goals. East also oversees Integrated Communications, ITS Finance and Administration, ITS Information Security and Enterprise Applications. As part of her operations role, East is leading an initiative to implement Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), a set of best practices for management of technology organizations, and is responsible for development and implementation of IT policy.
