Robyn East
As deputy CIO, Robyn East manages ITS' daily operations and is responsible for translating organizational strategy into operational objectives and divisional goals. East also oversees Integrated Communications, ITS Finance and Administration and ITS Information Security. As part of her operations role, East is leading an initiative to implement Information Technology Service Management (ITSM), a set of best practices for management of technology organizations, and is responsible for development and implementation of IT policy.
Before joining Information Technology Services (ITS), East served as the executive director of the administrative applications department in Information Systems and Services at George Washington University. While at GWU, in addition to managing enterprise applications, data administration and the University’s web presence, she was responsible for managing the $35M+ budget of the central information technology organization, the strategic IT plan, all IT policy and procedures, and communications from the IT organization to the university.
Her background includes extensive experience in strategic planning for information technology, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation, enterprise architecture planning and enterprise portal and portal-based applications in higher education.
East received her bachelor’s degree from the Mississippi University for Women and completed graduate work at North Texas State University. She is a member of the EDUCAUSE Advisory Group on Enterprise Information Systems and Services and was recognized by EDUCAUSE in 2003 with its first Excellence in Administrative Systems Award.
