Update on (RESTORED) course sites.
May 15, 2008 | In Service Notices , Bug/Problem , Unplanned Outage , Automatic Data Update Carolina’s Blackboard services recently transitioned to an outside hosting service, Blackboard ASP. During the transition, Blackboard ASP experienced serious technical issues resulting in the service being unavailable to campus on Wednesday, May 14.Blackboard services are available to all users.
Please Note that the data contained in the system is current as of Friday, May 9.If you made site changes between May 10 and May 13:
Content entered by instructors or TAs into their courses between May 10 and May 13 is now available to instructors and TAs in newly created duplicate sites. Duplicate sites have the name of the original course sites plus the word (RESTORED). Note that:- (RESTORED) sites have the content of the corresponding original sites in addition to the content added by Instructor or TAs between May 10 and May 13.
- (RESTORED) sites do not contain student enrollments or any data associated with students and thus are not suitable for teaching purposes. However you may copy content from the (RESTORED) sites into the corresponding original sites following these instructions http://help.unc.edu/?id=4843.
- (RESTORED) sites do not contain data entered by the students between May 10 and May 13.
Collaboration Services Restored After Successful Migration to Hosting
May 10, 2008 | In Service Notices , Automatic Data Update The Virtual Classroom and the Light Chat Services have been fully restored. All users should now be able to access the system and continue their work as usual. If you have problems please contact the Help Desk. Thank you for your patience during this migration downtime.Spring 2007 Blackboard sites to be reset to “Unavailable�? on Thursday May 31st 2007.
May 29, 2007 | In Service Notices , Automatic Data UpdateOn Thursday May 31st 2007, ITS will reset all Spring 2007 Blackboard course sites to be unavailable to students. After this change is made students and guests will no longer see links for Spring 2007 sites when they log into Blackboard. Â Instructors, teaching assistants and course builders will still be able to access these sites as usual. Instructors or teaching assistants may continue to allow students to access these sites by making them available gain.
