On Tuesday, August 22nd, all Spring and Summer 2006 course sites will be reset to unavailable only to students. This will not affect Instructors, teaching assistants or course builders who will still have access to these sites after the 22nd of August; students and guests will no longer see links for Spring and Summer 2006 sites. Instructors or teaching assistants may continue to allow students to access these sites, by
making them available again.

From 5PM to approximately 9PM on Friday, August 11th, Blackboard.unc.edu will be unavailable to users. During this time, ITS will be applying upgrades to the main file server.

By 12 noon on Friday, August 11th, instructors should be able to see the students enrolled in their respective Blackboard course sites. For students enrolling in courses after August 11th, deployment of those enrollments into the Blackboard system should occur as explained in the help document

Workshops
You can now
register for the Blackboard for Beginners workshops scheduled for the beginning of the fall 2006 semester.
Designed for instructors and instructional staff. The Blackboard for Beginners workshop will begin with an overview followed by a hands-on session regarding controlling access, uploading course materials, making links to external sites, and customizing navigation. The second part of the session will begin with an overview of Blackboard's communication tools followed by a hands-on session to address individual topics of interest.
