Upcoming Blackboard Downtime for Migration to Hosting
April 29, 2008 | In Service Notices , Upgrade/Maintenance Period From 6:00 p.m. on May 9th until 8:00 p.m. on May 11th, 2008 https://blackboard.unc.edu will be unavailable to users. During this time ITS will migrate the data from the current UNC-Chapel Hill Blackboard system to a Blackboard Inc. hosted environment. After the migration Blackboard service at https://blackboard.unc.edu will resume to normal. We anticipate there will be no long-term impact on the Carolina community in the way Blackboard is accessed or utilized, an we look forward to this change contributing to a more stable and consistent Blackboard experience for the Carolina community.For faculty teaching summer courses, please remember that for Blackboard sites to show in the system:
- the course must have been listed with the University Registrar
- the instructor must have been assigned in the SIS (Student Information System) as instructor of the course
If you don’t see your summer course/s showing in the Blackboard system, before opening a ticket with the Help Desk, please verify with the Course Scheduling Officer in your school that the two conditions mentioned above are met.
